Jo,
St James Square used to be situated on the North-East corner of the 1970's
St James Barton Roundabout (& walkers Underpass).
The 'Spirit of Bristol', a shiny-silvery-metal construction, is situated in
the area that was once called St.James Square, near the entrance to Avon
House North.
I'm sure, if interest is there, that someone else on the list will remember
when, and why, the 'Spirit of Bristol was made.

Bristol, but there was no match. There is one in Bath though (not far away)
and in Cheltenham. Paste this URL into your browser and St James' Square,
Bath is near the top where the red envelope is.

in Bristol called St James Barton and the Square could have been demolished
to make way for it. Also worth trying
