Thanks Josephine. I have previously come across Mary Mason's site, and
have consulted the transcripts from the various parishes on several
occasions. However, an off-list correspondent sent me some information
quoted from Mary's site that I was previously unaware of, and it appears
that the Hannah I was looking for is probably Hannah BESSANT who married
a John ADAMS on 16 Nov 1807 at St. James. Mary's site has 5 children
listed for John and Hannah (although think there are perhaps 4 or 5
more) including an Elizabeth, born 1813 at Pill, who I think is probably
my Elizabeth ADAMS.
As an aside, in attempting to access some parts of Mary's web site, I
ran into some problems. It seems that some of the page links have been
generated with backslashes instead of the normal forward slashes, making
this links inaccessible to those of us that don't use Internet Explorer
:-( This includes the links to the 'Bessants of Gordano' pages that
detail Hannah, John, and their children :-( I have emailed Mary to let
her know of this problem.
Regards,
Jeremy
