Hi Peter,

My first thought was the "Jolly Sailor" in Saltford, but looking at the
story of the Cock Road Gang, it's mentioned that it was in Hanham.

See the following web site for the story of the CAINES family and the Cock
Road Gang.

There's a reference to George CAINES running the 'Jolly Sailor' in
Parramatta, Australia but I don't know if he ran the one on his home
territory.

I have a Mary KAYNES (sic) in my tree and I'm wondering whether she fits in
with this notorious CAINES family!
