If Maxim's was around in the '30s, on Jerome just north of Burnside, I
remember it indeed! To my mother's distress my father took me there when I
may have been 18 to see the featured Evelyn Nesbitt, the lady of Sanford White
fame. She was still something to see although her singing was . . . .
