Pam, in a nutshell, ICQ is an instant message service that one can use to
talk in real time back and forth while both are on the computer. It is one
of the most intense ones out there. Some others are Yahoo IM, Earthlink IM,
AOL IM, etc.
Hope that helps you. If you have a friend who has a computer, you could
save a lot in long distant phone charges by using ICQ Instant Messaging or
one of the others.
