From the American Heritage Dictionary:
1a. Any of various chiefly North American freshwater food fishes of the
genus Coregonus, having a generally white or silvery color. b. Any of
various similar or related fishes, such as the lake herring, whiting, or
menhaden.

And there's no such fruit as "apple" either!
