Nancy, he was born in Germany. In the places I did find him it either said Germany or Wurttemburg. Born August 10, 1827. The last name could be anything resembling Glaser such as Glazier, Glasser, or anything that sounds like it!!

for Matthias'-there's a couple in San Fran. Maybe the last name is
