To the CVGS-CIG:

I have learned the hard way that it is important to back up the Web addresses
that you visit periodically. Most e-mail software provides the option of
storing these addresses as Bookmarks or Favorite Places . If your e-mail
package does not have the option for backing up these Bookmarks, you may want
to consider copying the addresses and titles of your favorite Web Pages to a
Word or WordPerfect text file or to a spreadsheet file. Store this file on a
floppy away from your computer. If your hard drive crashes, you will be able
to recreate your Bookmarks once your computer is operational.

Below are a few of the Web Addresses I have stored as Bookmarks. You may
find some of these of interest. The listing is broken into three parts: 1)
Genealogy Sites, 2) Lookup Sites, and 3) Search Engines. Notice that the
name of the Web Page is followed by the Web address. By cutting the Web
Address (which starts with http://) into your browser, you should be able to
view these Web Pages.

If you have some recommended Web Sites of general interest, you may want to
send them to the group. If you send your e-mail to
it will automatically be broadcast to everyone on
the CVGS mailing list.
