GARDNER, Lulu Belle - Services will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in
Payne and Son Chapel for Lulu Belle Gardner, 80, of 2721 Hubbard St., who
died Wednesday in a Bakersfield rest home. The Rev. Donald Zerbe of the
Trinity Methodist Church will officiate and interment will follow in Union
Cemetery. Mrs. Gardner was a native of Michigan and had lived in Kern County
61 years. She is survived by her widower, John E., two sons, Thomas L. of
Falls Church, VA and Hugh of Lompoc. Pallbearers will be Troy Turner, Earl
Cook, H. Kendall Graham, Glen Hartley, Joseph Gillio and Burnis Thurman.
