FORT JONES--Funeral services for Robert J. DeNure of
Yreka, a retired rancher and school bus driver, will
be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the United
Methodist Church here.

Burial will be in Fort Jones Cemetery. Girdner
Funeral Chapel of Yreka is in charge of arrangements.

DeNure died Thursday at Beverly Manor Convalescent
Hospital in Yreka. He was 96.

A native of Quartz Valley, he was born Oct. 14, 1879,
and was a member of a pioneer Siskiyou County family.
He retired as a school bus driver in 1949 from the
Scott Valley School District.

He leaves six daughters, Dorothy Luce of Fort Jones,
and Edith Eddy, Clarice Walker, Vera Crebbin, Blanche
Weed and Grace Bartlett, all of Yreka; a son, Roy
"Bud" DeNure of Yreka; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
