Unfortunately, the CA Death Index is not cross-referenced. The surname is
the one stated on the death certificate AND to make matters worse, the deaths
for 1905-1939 only give the following types of info -
deceased surname, given name, middle initial
initials of spouse (sometimes)
age at death
County of death
date of death
