Obituary Notices:

OVEROCKER, Chester M. - Funeral services will be conducted in Greenlawn
Chapel Friday at 11:30 a.m. for Chester M. Overocker, 50, of 330 Arvint St.,
who died in a local hospital Dec. 25. Dr. Glenn D. Puder of the First
Presbyterian Church will officiate and interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial
Park. Mr. Overocker was a native of Bradner, O. and had lived in Bakersfield
for 20 years. He was employed by the Shell Oil Co. as district production
foreman and had been with the Shell Oil Co. for 34 years. He was a member of the
Petroleum Production Pioneers. Survivors include his wife, Gladys L.
Overocker of Bakersfield; daughters, Mrs. Marian L. Crystal of Daneville, Mrs. Jeane
M. Jewell of Castle Air Force Base; five grandchildren, Mary Sue Crystal,
Nora Crystal of Daneville; Martha Jewell, Ann Jewell and Dick Jewell all of
Castle Air Force Base. It is the request of the family that in lieu of flowers
donations be made to the cancer fund in memory of Chester M. Overocker. Mr.
Overocker will lie in state at Greenlawn Chapel. Interment will be private
following chapel services which will be public.
