Glad you've gotten additional information and think that the Santa Barbara
one is yours. Right now I don't have a volunteer on the CADI list for Santa
Barbara county. The News Press is in the CA room of the State library in
Sacramento. I'm ccing Ruby to see if she can help you. I found her listing

Hi there Colleen! Hope your summer is going well. Mine is going
alltogether too quickly!!! I'm just wondering where we left off last time
we communicated. I know you sent me brief info on 3 Herbert Chase's in
hopes that one would be mine. Well, just last week, I found an obit for
another of Herbert's siblings that places Herbert in Santa Barbara in 1962.
So now, more than ever, I believe that my Herbert Chase would be the one in
the SSDI that was born 2-15-1901 and died in Santa Barbara on 12-20-1971. I
have a note that you found him in some index as marrying in Michigan, whihc
would make sense. Would you be able to locate an obituary for this Herbert?
I am hoping that it would confirm that it is indeed the one that I'm looking
