Got this on another list where they are looking for
Librarian for the Swedenborgian Collection, which will
now be at the Pacific School of Religion, Graduate
Theological Union, Berkeley. But this not about the
job, but that people in the past have asked about
Swedenborgian Church in San Francisco. Maybe they
will have some information here. Not sure if they are
ready for a number of question, at this time. So
maybe we should wait to they hire the person, which
looks like it will not happen until April. ;-)

The Swedenborgian House of Studies (SHS), in
partnership with the Pacific School of Religion (PSR),
offers training and education in Swedenborgian
theology to seminary students and laity. SHS at PSR
serves as the seminary for the General Convention of
the Swedenborgian Church, a Christian
denomination whose theology is based on the writings
of the eighteenth-century scientist and mystic,
Emanuel Swedenborg.
The House of Studies and Collection recently
relocated to Berkeley from its century-old home in
Boston.
SHS has received a two-year grant that will fund a
project of integrating the card catalog with the
online
catalog of the Graduate Theological Union (GTU)
library, which is located just across the street. The
Librarian will be responsible for directing this
integration project and for maintaining a functioning
library
for student use.
The Swedenborgian Collection consists of
approximately 27,000 volumes, including works authored
by
Emanuel Swedenborg, Swedenborgian collaterals,
periodicals, reference, and a general collection. In
addition, there is a substantial archival collection
containing various editions of Swedenborgs
publications, denominational records and other
archival materials related to Swedenborgian thought
and
history.
