Thanks for the help. I have access to the Christian Guardian references so will check them out. Henry KITCHEN is one of my direct maternal ancestors. He had a slew of children so she could, indeed, be one of the grandchildren.

I can not find information in Ancaster's Heritage about this woman - admittedly this doesn't mean much. In terms of age, she could be a granddaughter of Henry Kitchen who lived at lot 25/1 in Ancaster (Reuben Drake lived at 19/2 - not too far away.
There are no pre-1858 wills in Ontario for the Kitchens.

I think the best bet might well be to go to Toronto to the United Church of Canada Archives and consult the index to the "Christian Guardian". An obit for either of the Drakes might mention her parents. You might also check any listings for Kitchen obits to see if she is mentioned in them.

But, since you are going to Toronto anyway, go to the Ontario Archives and get her death certificate. By 1918, they listed parents, so may have done so by 1898 - not sure about that.

There are a few ideas.
