PRESS RELEASE

GENEALOGY SOCIETY DAY STUDY GROUP TO MEET

The Placer County Genealogy Society (PCGS) will hold its regular monthly Day Study Group Workshop on Monday, October 13, 2008.  The Society sponsors this study session on the second Monday of each month (except July, August, and December) from 10AM to Noon, in the Placer County Library's Beecher Room, 350 Nevada Street, Auburn.

This month's program will be led by Barbara Leak. Genealogical Societies: Who, What, Why, Where and How.  Different types of genealogical societies exist on international, national, state, and local levels and offer many benefits and services including publications, education, research assistance, libraries, and online resources. In October, our study group will look at who the
genealogical societies are and who they are for, what they do and what they offer, why you should support them, where to find them, how they can help further your research. Visitors are welcome.

For more information on this Study Group, the Society's Family TreeMaker User Group and its regular meeting activity, see the Society's Web page at www.pcgs.pcgenes.com or call toll free at 1-866-894-2076
