I found a book that I knew I appeared in. I typed my last name into the search field and it seemed if nothing happened. I was still looking at the title page. So I thought the search only looked at that page. But down the left column, where all the pages were listed, were red brackets around page numbers: [147]. Those were the pages my name appeared, so all I had to do was click on them.
