I just completed transcribing the first 15 pages for the City of Oakland
for Alameda County, CA in the 1860 Federal Census [10 years earlier than
the 1870 Census I recently completed] and have it online. It will
ultimately be 40 pages long. It is my hope that it will help a lot of
people.


I am continuing with transcribing the census covering Oakland City, to
be followed by Oakland Township, then the Alameda, Eden, Washington &
Murray Townships.

The City of Oakland transcription is in the 'oaklandcity' folder
