My great grandfather, Otto William Bayerd (Bayard), was a Swedish American,
who fought in the Spanish American War and who died on 20 August 1932 at Mare
Island. Although I have found an article on Page 1 and his obituary in the
Vallejo Evening News, I am wondering if there were any Swedish American
newspapers that may have covered the deaths of fellow Swedes in the 1930's.

My great grandpa maintained a residence in Vallejo, but he also maintained
one in Oakland (Fruitvale). He was buried in the Presidio, but I do not
believe that he was active in the Swedish American community and was not much
for church. I am hoping that one of these Swedish American newspapers
covered his death or burial.
