Hi Margaret,

I have been trying to find a look-up for obituaries for a few months now. I know the city but it hasn't helped. I have contacted just about every source I can think of. No one seems to know where there might be obituaries archived.
My kids grandfather died in 1941. I have been referred to the Berkeley Historical Society which has been closed for a remodel.

I also thought the Oakland Tribune newspaper might be a good source only I could not find a link.

I can't go in person to search.
Bancroft Library at Univ. of Calif-Berkeley has quite a few historical listings but I have not figured out how to use their on-line catalo yet.
Another source might be the California State Library's History room or the California Historical Society which is in San Francisco but they have holdings from all over.

If you find out anything please let me know.
