Hello George and list,
I saw your post regarding the early buildings on the UC Berkeley Campus.
Family lore had it that my great uncle, Isaac Wilhelm Panttaja, was the
architect who designed the Agricultural building at UC Berkeley. I think
that was around 1911-1913. Would anyone have a photo of the building? And
how could I confirm that his name is associated with that early UC Berkeley
building?
Thanks,
JB Wilson, Beaverton, OR :-)
"In 1911, William (Isaac Wilhelm Panttaja) started the building of the
Agriculture Building at the University of California at Berkeley. He was
the architect and supervised the setting of the stone. It was built of
granite from the quarries of Rocklin. In 1913 William became ill and
developed tuberculosis and passed away in August of 1913 at the age of 41."
