From today's Oakland Tribune, they are going to have a dinner in honor of Horace Carpentier, and if you believe that I have a bridge for sale. But he was a interesting man in Oakland and California History. I love how he got the Central Pacific Railroad to stop in Oakland instead of San Francisco.
