Found him listed in the 1877-78 Oakland City Directory as living at the SW corner of Twelfth and Clay, he was clerk with Cushing & Ryder, also living there were a George Pierson, in Mining, and about ten blocks down Clay was a Charles Pierson, living at 1061 Clay, a delivery clerk. Checked the marriage index for them and found out that they got married Oct. 5, 1878. Will some checking to see what I can find out.
