.Bernard
dont know if this will be of any help, but when I was a child I grew up
acrss the street from a family named JOSEPH on "B" Street in Hayward,
but for the life of me I cant remember their given names, of course as
kids we always called the adults Mr. & Mrs so I dont know if I ever even
heard their first names. That would have been i the 1950's and into the
early 1960's, dont know if they were their before or after that. I
later, as an adult lived in both Eden Township-San Lorenzo and lived in
whats called "San Lorenzo Village" where I graduated from high school
and its still a nice place to live.
The following link will give you some history of San Lorenzo and
specifically mentions the Azorean Portugese (which by the way alot of my
cousins are).Hayward, San Leandro, San Lorenzo had a very large
Portugese population even in the 50's and 60's. A quic check of
whitepages finds there are still JOSEPH's in the area.
Cris
Now in Central California

I am looking for any information on a family surnamed Joseph of Azorean background that setlled in San Leandro . Anthony Benedict Joseph was supposedly born on Sept. 5 1882 in that town . He was one of elen children . I hope to get the names of his parents .Now I did find a family that matched his in Eden San Lorenzo in the 1900 census . Is this in the neighbourhood ?I would appreciate any help . Thank you . Bernard
