Hello Board,
Does anyone know where I can find Prison records? Court Records? for 1923 Oakland - Alameda or Colfax, Placer County California.
In 1923 James McCrary age 50 was wanted by authorities (Sherrif Elmer GUNN (GUM?)) in Colfax for attempted murder. He shot R. M. CROOKS, after Crooks broke up his home.
He was captured at 19Th Street and Broadway in Oakland California by the captain of detectives Richard V. Mc SARELY
My James (Edward G.) McCrary b. about 1775, was in San Fransisco in 1920 and was in Oakland by 1933. We have lost him for from 1920-1932 and I am wondering if he may have been in Jail. He doesn't appear in the 1930 census, at least that we could find?
