Jackie --
Firstly, in Amador Dispatch, May 27, 1904 there is a Card of Thanks from
Sultana Goss re the death of her husband Charles F. Goss. Maybe whoever has
the 1904 film can find a death article for you.
Next: PIONEER MOTHER PASSES -- Mrs. Sultana White, widow of the late George
White passed away Tuesday night after an illness of several months. The
deceased was a native of Arkansas and aged 84 years 2 months. She left her
native State in 1861 and upon her arrival in California first settled in
Lodi. From the fall of 1861 she arrived in Jackson and has resided here
ever since. She is well known and highly esteemed by the residents of
Jackson and her death marks the passing of one of the old timers of this
city. She is survived by two daughers and one son. They are Mrs. Sultana
Mitchell and Mrs. Melvin Ford and one son, Thomas White, all of Jackson.
Four grandsons and two great-grandsons survive. The funeral was held this
morning (Friday) at 10 o'clock from the late residence, 68 Main Street,
thence to St. Patrick's church where mass was offered up by Rev. Father
Kearney. Interment Catholic Cemetery. (Amador Dispatch, 03/02/1923)
Next: Died at the county hospital, February 28, 1905, John P. Courtright, a
native of Pennsylvania, aged 71 years. (Amador Dispatch, 03/03/1905)
Hope these help.
