Mining Accident - A miner by the name of Niel Toland was killed on Tuesday
last by the caving of a bank, while at work in a mining claim, near Irish
Hill, in this county. Mr. Toland leaves many warm friends to mourn his
loss.
Master George Perry, son of Mr. Charles Perry of Jackson, whilst playing
with other lads, fell off of a fence and broke one of his arms.

Died near Live Oak Shadows, Apr 9th, the infant son of R.M. & Harriett

Born on the 7th on So. Fork of Jackson Creek to G.B. Cunio, a daughter.
Born near Jackson, Apr 4th, to James Avis, a daughter (this seems to be
the same as entry from Apr 7th vol 7 #29 giving birth date of Mar 31st)
Born in Jackson on Mar 31st, to M.C. Parkison, a daughter.
Married by Justice Swadley(Swidley?) on the 8th, at Enterprise, Z. McFadden
and Mrs. G. Leonard.

claim, near Grass Valley.

Born near Jackson, on the 24th to Stephen Ratto, a daughter.

Died in Butte City, May 2nd, Fedella Ann, consort of Joel Turner, age 32.
Died near Aqueduct City, Apr 24th, Mary Ann, the beloved wife of James H.
Lowry, age 31, 11mo.
Married at Pine Grove by Rev. S.G. Briggs on the 1st day of May, Miss Frank
Ballard (that is how it read) and J.F. Bradshaw, both of Pine Grove.
Married at the Buckeye ranch by Rev. W.W. Armstrong, Apr 30th, Miss Amanda
J. Rader of Sacramento Co & James P. Byrne of Amador Co.

Suicide - Dr. Lund for the past 10 yrs a resident of Muletown, near Ione
City, committed suicide by cutting his throat with a razor at his residence
on the night of
May 16th, cause, suppose to be embarressment in financial affairs. Dr.
Lund was highly respected by all who knew him.

Coronor Inquest at Fiddletown on Tuesday last, Justice W.W. Wadley, on the
body of Pedro Rojo a Chilano. Jurors were P.F. Covert, W.T. Gist, L.H.
Sloan, S. Craner, George Nickolas, B.F. Bacon, A. Gombert and R. Jackson.
Findings: Age 58, died Jun 4th by a wound received in the head by parties
unknown to the jurors on the night of April 14th.
Married at the residence of the bride's father, in Ione City, June 4th,
John J. Watkinson and Miss Martha A. Gregory.
Died in Volcano, June 1st, Nannie Miller, 2nd daughter of E.M. & Angeline
Briggs, age 4 yrs, 9 mo.

Born on Tunnel Hill, near Jackson, June 27th to McClain, a son.
Died in Jackson, June 25th, Richard Jacob, son of Frederick and Naty
Schober, born Feb 6, 1865.
Painful Accident - Mr. McAdams of the firm of Fallen? & Co in Sutter Creek,
in driving a wedge into a stick of wood struck the wedge a heavy blow, when
it flew out and struck him in the face just below the eye. Upon exam, the
eye was not injured beyond the fracture of the bone and bruising of the
flesh.
