This completes the two years 1905 and 1906 that I agreed to do. I still have
to post 1906 to the data base though.
I put in a lot of hours on this, but I must confess I really enjoyed it.
My only regret is that as I write about these people, I never had the chance
to know them, as even the births I documented more than likely the people
have passed.
I think the later editions of the paper were a little harder to do. They had
a lot of pages, of course after a while I knew which pages to pass. It would
have been much easier if they had put all the births, deaths and marriages in
one section -- sometimes they did, but more likely than not they were all
over the paper. I had to read each item in the gossip columns as sometimes I
found deaths, marriages, births mixed in the gossip and store advertising.
I didn't find my dad's birth announcement though. He was born 7/13/06 in
Sutter Creek (I think). So this would lead me to believe that others are
probably not listed also.
I had a list of names I took with me to the library, some I found others I
didn't. They could have been in some of the columns and I may have missed
them, but I hope not.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading them as much as I enjoyed doing this
project.
