Following are the extracts for the month of January 1881:

January 1, 1881, Vol. 22, No. 16
MARRIED.In Ione City, December 27, 1881, by C. B. Swift, J. P., Mr.
George Salzgeber of Ione, to Miss Mary Sprecher of Amador City.
At the Clift House, Salt Lake City, December 20, 1880 by Chief Justice
John A. Hunter, Mr. Richard Burgess, of Salt Lake City, to Mrs. Eliza
McClellan, of California.[Both parties formerly resided in Amador county.]
List of marriages for the year 1880.
A Coroner's inquest was held last Friday on the body of J. F. Winchell,
who was mentioned last week as having been
found dead at the residence of Mr. Sheakley, when the jury returned a
verdict to the effect that his death was the result of an
injury he had received in the head by an accident about four years ago,
the said injury culminating in an internal inflammation
of the ear. The deceased was a brother of Mrs. J. McCauley, of the Arcade
hotel, and was much respected as an honest and industrious man. He was a
native of Illinois and aged about of 28 years.

January 8, 1881, Vol. 22, No. 17
BORN.On French Hill, January 3, 1881 to Mr. and Mrs. Powlet, a son.
DIED.At Sutter Creek on January 1st, after a long and painful illness,
Nancy B. (a native of Clinton, Pasaic county, New Jersey.) aged 53 years
and 11 months; wife of D. A. Cooper, and daughter of James M. and Elizabeth
Doughty.

January 15, 1881, Vol. 22, No. 18
DIED.Found dead. Mr. Michael Cavanaugh, an old resident of this place
was found dead in his bed last Tuesday morning, at the residence of Mr.
Jas. McMahon near town (Jackson). He was at work on the ranch all day
Monday, plowing as usual, and went to bed at night apparently as well and
hearty as ever, but when they went to wake him up for breakfast in the
morning he was discovered to be lifeless, having died sometime during the
night. An inquest was held.....after which the the jury decided that his
death was caused from heart disease. The deceased was a native of Ireland,
and aged about 46 years.

January 22, 1881, Vol. 22, No. 19
BORN.In Pine Grove, January 12, 1881, to the wife of M. P. Brandon, a
daughter.
At the French Gardens, January 16, 1881, to Stefano and Caterina Oneto, a
daughter.
DIED.Mr. L. A. McHardy, one of our (Ione City) most respected
citizens, died at his residence yesterday, of pneumonia, and was buried
here today,......
DIED. At Plymouth, December 19, 1880, Sadie, only daughter of Mr. And
Mrs. John Philips, aged 8 years and two months.

January 29, 1881, Vol. 22, No. 20
BORN.Near Amador City, December 31, 1880, to the wife of Nicholas
Hornberger, jr., a son.
MARRIED.At the residence of the bride's mother, at Comanche, Cal.,
January 20, 1881 by Rev. W. H. Pascoe, Henry C. Kuntz, of Julian, Amador
county, to Miss Amelia Keiser, of Comanche, Calaveras County.
DIED.Chas. Winegar, an old pioneer, and a much respected citizen ,
died in this place (Plymouth) last Saturday, the 22nd, and was buried
Sunday, under the auspices.....
Also Mr. Andrew Poggie, a native of Italy, died yesterday from wounds
received whilst at work in the Empire (Plymouth).
