It was interesting to see this name pop up, as I have an autograph album that
belonged to my father-in-laws mother, Arabella "Belle" Smith. The
inscription for Sutter Creek, April 8, 1884 says:

To Miss Belle;

"It is not just as we take it
This mystical life of ours
Life's field will yield as we make it,
A harvest of thorns or flowers."

Truely Yours, Rosa Danielewicz

There are many other names and verses in the autograph book which I will try
to post to the site in a few weeks, a couple at a time. Phyllis Pengilly,
Stockton

My CA. names: Pengilly, Hughes, Smith, Phillips. Most of them in Sutter
Creek and Amador Co.
