Hi
I don't have any real information but Alvah was my 2 great grandfather's uncle. Wish I could send you something but I can't.
Alvah and James Franklin Cable(my 2 great grandfather) established the first trading post on Beaver Island in Lake Michigan. They
were fishermen and cut wood to sell to the ships that were traveling on the Great Lakes. They did this during the summer months
then went back to Ohio(for Alvah) and New York for James. James' father was William Cable who was born abt 1790 but I have not
been able to find any information about who their parents were.
