Took a look at the Sacramento Bee index and there is no listing for Pinney,
Washington in 1864.

My g g father, Washington Alden PINNEY,was b in 1864 in Clipper Mills, Butte
Co. I can find no record of his birth. Any suggestions? He grew up and died
in Sutter Co.
