Hi everyone. I am looking for help to find out when my gg grandfather came to California. He was a miner. I have seen a deed dated 3/1858 where he and his wife Anna (Schirmer) Wagner sold land in the Table Mountains. Does anyone know where that is? I believe Anna came to California in the fall of 1852 with her brother Charles Schirmer and sister Christine (Schirmer) Peters and their families. Would mining claims be found anywhere else except at the clerk-recorder's office in Oroville? I would like to find an earlier record of John Wagner who drown 9/1867 in the Main Feather River. There was a coroner's inquest dated 9/30/1867 but I have not been able to locate a copy. There is no record of Anna after the birth of their son Julius Caesar Wagner on 7/1/1858. Any help would be appreciated.
Steve from Fresno.
