I find a voter registration for 1884:
Curl, Robert Arbery, 51, b. MO, Miner living in Honcut.

1880 census:
Curl:
Benjamin 60 MO
Robert 51 MO
living near each other in Wyandotte.
I didn't find any death or burial records, but I collect older records for
cemeteries with no office. Try Chico Cemetery, Oroville Cemetery Dist., and
Paradise Cemetery.
Also, on cagenweb, under look ups on the Butte County site, you can find how
to order the obit.
