I found an obituary in the Contra Costa Times which I will scan and send
to your email. His name also appears in the California Death Index, available
on Rootsweb.

It's my understanding (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) that Contra
Costa won't let people look at the death records; if you want a death certificate
you need to order a certified copy. I have not asked myself about this
but that is what I was told.
