The actual records are held at:

Contra Costa County Superior Court File Unit
1111 Ward Street
Martinez CA 94553
(925) 646-2967

According to the Contra Costa County Directory at:
http://www.co.contra-costa.ca.us/
Court Services Coordinator is Barbara Richmond at the above number

My last visit there was about a year ago, so my recollection of the fee
schedule is fuzzy. The search fee was about $15 if you didn't go in
person and do the lookup yourself. If you do your own lookup and provide
staff with a film reel and file number, they will set you up on a reader
and you can view and take notes atno charge (but reader time may be
limited if they're busy). All photocopies must be done by staff at a
cost of $1.00 per page. (Grandma's will / probate file cost me almost
$60.00 after I looked it up myself)
Also, an arson fire in the early 1990s destroyed some records - a 1987
will I sought was among those missing.
And, if you plan to phone or go in person, they close at 4:00 pm.
(Pacific time)

Hope this helps,
