Hi List,
I believe that at least one of the following and perhaps both are buried in Pacheco Cemetery, Pacheco, Contra Costa, CA in the above ground crypt behind my great great grandparents Jerome Bonaparte GREER and his wife Achsah SHERMAN GREER and their son Clarence GREER who died in infancy. All the other SHERMAN'S buried there thus far are part of my family. Is this a coincidence or are they too related, I don't know.

MARRIED
In San Francisco, Nov 10th by Re. T.W. BROTHERTON, Emanuel (I believe he went by Manuel) SHERMAN of Pacheco and Mrs. Maria CRUISE (She must have been married before, I would like to know her maiden name) of San Francisco.
I find Manuel and Maria enumerated in the 1880 Concord, Contra Costa census dated 3 Jun 1880 He is 52 from Portugal (1870 he said Western Islands), To the best of my knowledge none of my SHERMAN clan hails from Portugal so there is a huge chance they are not related but because I am also still trying to identify burials in Pacheco I would like any or all information available on Manuel and Maria. In the burials records that I have there is a M. SHERMAN who died in 1899 and a Maria SHERMAN who died in 1906 (I found her on www.criis,com some time back and the death date was listed as 9 Nov 1906.

COINCIDENCE ???

In the same issue marriage announcement is the following (John being my ggg uncle and both of the following are buried in Pacheco)
In Pacheco, Nov 17th by Rev T.R. BRADSHAW, Mr. John SHERMAN and Miss Minnie POTWIN.
John trained and performed with horses in the SHERMAN circus that he owned. There is a great article that was done by our own Art Cohan in the Sherman's of Yaxley if you would like a little more insight on the subject. He went the extra mile as usual to help solve a mystery. We can never thank Art enough for his contributions to Sherman research.
