I index the Fresno Bee for Obit Daily Times. There are 3 different kinds of
obits published in that paper. There is the standard one, that has minimal
information, and are now ONLY archived for seven days at a time instead of a
month. There are the paid ones, that contain more detailed information, (and
are considered a classified ad) and then finally there are the ones that
just say when the funeral service is going to be, usually on the day before
and the day of the funeral.
Using the online website you have to go to the obit link
http://www.fresnobee.com/obituaries/ for the first kind, then you click on
the three Services links.
The first Service link contains the "paid" obits. They are deleted daily
from the free section, after the first day they are hard to find in the
archives and you have to pay $1.75. I have seen the paid ones show up quite
awhile after the regular announcements. There are relatively very few "paid"
obits compared to the main obit section.
The Services Today and Services Tomorrow are just announcements of funeral
services.
Finally, to the person requesting a more complete obit, that may be all
there is, but I would keep checking the services link for the next few days
as it might show up.
Regards,
Tiffany
