Thanks to all who responded on this...........

I had hoped that there would be guidelines in place at the USGenWeb
Project regarding posting the names and addresses of the living to our
websites. In the case of full DC transcriptions this would be the name and
address of the informant- also I note that many obituaries do not list the
cause of death--and that is the decision the family / informant
makes..............Full DC transcriptions include this information.

I would suggest that the committee on USGenWeb Guidelines review this issue.

I guess it is currently up to us as the "publishers" of our websites to make
these important decisions regarding what materials and information we
choose to post directly on our sites. Linking to the CA-DEATH-INDEX archives
is an option that allows the researcher to find the information that has
already been posted to the net.

Just my opinion.
