Hi Cuzzins,
I haven't posted much to the list lately. I've been working with Dana
Meara and others on a N.C. Co. list, trying to sort out a few Nancy
Cagle's, in the family of Leonard and Mary Osborne Cagle.
I posted earlier that there seemed to be two Nancy's in this family. 1)
Nancy, b. 1820, m. John Summey, lived in Transylvania Co. N.C. and d.
there in 1893. 2) Nancy, b. 1830, m. John Cox, moved to Greenville Co.
S.C., d. 1897.
Nancy Summey, is listed in a couple of books and articles as the only
Nancy in Leonard's family.
However, Nancy Cox is listed in the 1850 census, as a daughter of
Leonard and Mary living in their home at that time. Also, there are
court records, newspaper articles (Legal Notice) and Obits. that list
Nancy Cox as the only Nancy in this family.
Leonard and Mary's family has been well documented, except for this
small part. I now believe that Nancy Cox, is the daughter of Leonard and
Mary, but I also think that Nancy Summey is linked to this family too.
If anyone on the list has any other info or resources on this little
puzzle please let us know.
I would love to tie these girls together some how and find out their
true relationship, to each other.
