Wayne,
It was me who submitted the inquiry on Pearl Cagle. What prompted
the inquiry was the following obit:
MISS PEARL CAGLE DEAD
Miss Pearl Cagle died at her home Thursday evening, January 12th, at
3:30 o'clock. Following ill health for the past few days. She was 21
years and eight months old. She became a Christian girl in the year 1918
and lived a sweet Christian life up to her death. She was a faithful
member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She was loved and made friends
wherever she went. She is leaving three brothers, Clyde, who has been
working in High Point for some time, Clarence and James, at home in
school; two sisters, Dorothy and Cathleen. Pearl was the oldest child of
the family. Funeral was held at her home church Friday at 3:00 o'clock
by her pastor, Rev. John Kidd of Bennett and the body was laid to rest in
the church cemetery. It gives us a glad thought to think she is not
dead, but sleeping.
Mrs. Lila Hancock Cole (must've written the obit since her name is at
the bottom of the print).
As you can see from the obit, Pearl is a member of a family with the
following children:
Pearl Cagle, b. abt 1907, NC; d. 12 Jan 1928, Randolph Co., NC
Clyde Cagle, b. aft 1907, NC
Clarence Cagle, b. aft 1907, NC
James Cagle, b. aft 1907, NC
Dorothy Cagle
Cathleen Cagle
The parents of these children would have been born about 1880+, probably
in
Randolph Co., NC
Your Pearl Cagle is actually Clattie Pearl Cagle, b. 23 Jan 1905,
Randolph Co., NC
and as you say, died in Randsburg, CA on 20 Jun 1913.
For these reasons, I don't believe the Pearl Cagle whom I inquired about
is your
Clattie Pearl Cagle. Perhaps, related but, not the same.
Lee Cagle
Okla City
P.S. If you have access to census reports, you might try the 1910 and
1920 census
reports for Randolph Co., NC. Let me know what you find.
