Hello Sylvia

Sorry to say I can find no connection to my names. My GG Grandfather was John Augustine Dougherty and was born in Chester County Pa. in 1844. I have him pretty well pinned downed as his father, Bernard Dougherty lived at 616 So. 13th Street in Philadelphia for most of his life (Near Broad and Bainbridge Sts). No idea who your John is.

My Cahills came from the marriage of John Augustine's sister Jane Dougherty marrying William Cahill sometime before 1860. William looks to be an undertaker as were several of their children later in life. He died sometime in the 1870s. Jane died in 1902 at the same house with son Thomas who was an undertaker.

If I come across anything of interest I'll let you know.
