Subject: [CAHUMBOL] Research Trip

I just wanted to write a note and let you know about a recent research
trip I was able to make to Eureka. I had put out a query asking for
ideas/thoughts on where to go and what to see on my genealogy hunt and
received some wonderful replies from very dear people. I had two offers of
help, and one willing to even take us to lunch/dinner!
Don Tunison-Campbell came through again and wrote out a very thorough
paper on what to visit first, hours, contacts, etc. Because of that letter
I was able to accomplish more than I'd ever hoped! I came home with about 2
inches of paperwork (only 5 hours of research) and many, many surprises in
them! (Now I need to plan for a 4-5 day trip to the library - just too much
to see - and I missed a few pages!!)
The docents at the library and historical society couldn't have been any
more helpful - and special thanks to a wonderful lady who seemed to be
everywhere (she was working on obituaries she's compiling). EVERYONE was
wonderful - beyond belief!
THANKS, everyone, for all your help!
Sincerely,
Jan James
