Thelma Goble died Jan. 1, 1994, in Fortuna at age 82. She was a resident of Ferndale.

Born in Samoa (Humboldt County), Thelma was the third of six children. She moved with her parents to Chowchilla as an infant, returning to Humboldt County where she attended schools in Rohnerville and Fortuna.

She married the late Chester C. Goble in 1929, and they operated dairy ranches in the Fernbridge, Ferndale and Waddington areas for almost 60 years.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Delbert and Emily Goble of Ferndale, Arlene and Don Krupka of Antioch, and Patricia and Jim Bender of Lafayette; two sisters, Zelda McNeil of New Jersey and Melva Moore of Walnut Creek; eight grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester C. Goble, in 1989.

Friends are invited to attend services at Goble's Chapel in Fortuna on Friday, Jan. 7, 1994, at 10 a.m.

Encryptment will follow at Ocean View Mausoleum in Eureka.

Arrangements are under the direction of Goble's Chapel in Fortuna, where friends may call Thursday, Jan,. 6, 1994, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m., and Friday, Jan. 7, 1994, from 8 a.m. to service time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2942 F Street, Eureka, 95501.
