SIEMON, Alfred. Parents, William and Josephine (Porter) Sieman [sic]. Born, Kilbourn, Ia., Jan. 2, 1881. Married, Inez Bennett, July 14, 1908. Children: Josephine McCann, Bennett, Glenn, Paul. Educated, Whittier College, Law Department, University of Southern California. Occupation: Attorney. He was a member of the Bakersfield City Council during 1934-37, and is at present a member of the Board of Governors, California State Bar Association and a member of the Kern County Council, Boy Scouts of America. Educated, Public schools of Kilbourne, Keosauqua High School, Ia.; Kidder Institute, Kidder, Mo.; Warrensburg State College, Mo.; graduate of Santa Barbara State College, 1912, A.B.; advanced work at the University of California, Berkeley; University of California at Los Angeles, Oregon State College. Occupation: Head of the Department of Home Economics, Kern County Union High School. She came to Kern County in 1912 in which year she became teacher of Home Economics at the Kern County Union High School and established and became Head of the Home Economics Department at that school in 1913, a position she has held ever since. When she joined the High School she was the only teacher of Home Economics in the field. Since 1938 she has been State Editor of the California Home Economics Assocation's publication.
