McMahon, George D. - Services will be conducted in the Hillcrest
Mortuary Chapel Wednesday at 1 p.m. for George D. McMahon, 77, of 8221 Buena
Vista Blvd., Lamont, who died Sunday in a Bakersfield convalescent hospital.
Mr. McMahon resided in Kern County 23 1/2 years and was a former employee of
A. H. Karpe. The Rev. Olin G. Collier, pastor of the First Baptist Church of
Mettler, will officiate at the chapel service. Mr. McMahon is survived by his
widow Mrs. Jewell McMahon of Lamont; sons Gordon, Thomas, and George of
Bakersfield, Paul of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Roscoe of Upton; daughters,
Mrs. Mildred Manning of Salinas and Mrs. Betty Hopson of Ogden, Utah; 25
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bill Newton,
J.H. Hartsfield, Carl Patrick, J. B. Patrick, Connie Gray, and Jay Manning.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
