Dr. Frederick C. H. Fowler

Dr. Frederick C. H. Fowler, M.D., died June 24, 1995, in Bakersfield Hospital
after a short illness. He was born November 15, 1903, in Bakersfield. He was
educated in local schools and then graduated from the California College of
Medicine in the Class of 1938. He served his internship in the Los Angeles
County General Hospital and came to Oildale to open his practice in 1942.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Coast
Guard. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and was a member of
the Commanders Club, the Oildale-Muedell Masonic Lodge, F. & A.M. the
Scottish rite of Free Masonry, S.J., U.S.A. the Al Maliaka Shriners, was a
lieutenant colonel in the Civil Air Patrol, the Kern County Medical Society,
the Medical Society of California and the American Medical Association. He is
one the two surviving charter members of the Oildale Rotary Club. Dr. Fowler
also did extensive service on cruise ships during the 1960s and 1970s.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 28 years, Ralena E. Fowler,
and nephew and niece, Don and Phyllis Culp of Bakersfield.
Masonic funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 27, at noon in the
Mish Funeral Home and cremation will be in the Mish Funeral Home Crematorium
with his ashes being placed at a later date.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. today at Mish Funeral
Home.
