Funeral Rites Set for Pioneer Woman
Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Belle Branch, 76, Bakersfield resident for 47 years will be conducted at 2p.m. Tuesday at Payne & Son Chapel with the Reverend Charles Opie officiating. Mrs. Branch died Friday at a rest home.
Widow of the late William H. Branch, prominent oil operator in Kern County in Bakersfield and Maricopa districts during the Lakeview gusher days, Mrs. Branch was well-known in the community.
She is survived by her daughters, Lottie Doll and Julia McCune, Bakersfield; Bettie Stannard, Oakland; sons Archie Branch, Bakersfield; Lester Branch, San Jose; The Rev. George Branch, Porterville; Oliver Branch, south Gate; Gene Branch, United States Army; sister Alice Buell, Bakersfield; brothers George and Abbie Hunt, Bakersfield; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery. Pallbearers are Charles Wallace, Thomas Hunt, Eddie Hunt, Anddie Hunt, Andy Kutas, H. D. Buell and Charles Hunt.
