DARREL DEAN BARR 1949-2002

Darrel Dean Barr, 53, of Fort Scott, died in his home, Sunday Morning, December 8, 2002. He was born in Fort Scott, Kansas on August 9, 1949 the son of Preston Lafayette "Pete" and Dorothy Lavella Pottorff Barr.

He married Janice Robinson on April 19, 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1967 and attended Fort Scott Community College.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 until 1971 and, while aboard the USS Hancock, served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Olson-Frary-Burkhart Post 1165 VFW. He was a member of the Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.

He worked as an Engineering Analyst for the 3M Company in Nevada, Missouri where he was employed for more than 28 years. His hobbies included antiques and classic cars.

He is survived by his wife Janice of the home, two daughters Lisa Parsons and her husband Mike of Lenexa, Kansas and Tricia Barr andher fiancee Chad Tenpenny of Prairie Village, Kansas, two grandsons Reid and Wyatt Parsons of Lenexa, Kan.
