Broce, Viola Esther - Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Payne & Sons Chapel for Viola Esther Broce, 65, of 1227 Niles St. who died Saturday in a Bakersfield hospital. The Rev. Donald Zerbe, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church will officiate and interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Broce was a native of Illinois and had resided in this area many years. She was a member of Caledonia Chapter 391, OES, past royal matron of Tejon Court, Order of Amaranth, a member of the Order of Beauceant, the White Shrine, Pythian Sisters and past president of the Carpenters Auxiliary. Survivors include her widower, Worley C., a sister, Virginia Mason, Bakersfield and two brothers, Virgil Rankin of Napa and Herbert Rankin of Bakersfield. Pallbearers will be Jim Clary, Gus Girard, Howard Gidding, Gerald Mason, Andrew Freyschlag, and Ray Meagler.
